Friend of Lafayette:
It began as a dream 28 years ago, a vision to create employment opportunities for persons who are developmentally disabled/mentally retarded. Today, Lafayette Industries helps 210 people lead productive, fulfilling lives.
Thank you for building dreams for people like John who came to Lafayette when he was 21. He cannot speak, and he is mentally retarded, which made it impossible to find a job. He found a place at Lafayette. More than a decade later, John’s job has become a labor of love, a chance for him to be productive and to maximize his potential.
With your support, we can help even more people like John. We currently have 25 persons who are disabled on our waiting list, anxiously anticipating the call to come to work at Lafayette.
The 30,000 square-foot addition that will give us more room to grow is almost complete; we will provide employment for up to 40 more persons with disabilities. This is just one of the many reasons we have worked on an expansion plan for more than three years.
We have obtained a great majority of the money needed for this critical expansion and we have reached our goal of $300,000 to make this dream a reality! We thank you for your generosity!
