• The Auxiliary is a financial-support group consisting of families who have a son, daughter, relative, etc. at Lafayette.
• The Auxiliary plans and manages social events for the sheltered employees: a Valentine party, a Halloween party and a Christmas/Holiday party.
• The Auxiliary has offered low-cost trips for sheltered employees and family members/staff persons to Kansas City, Nashville, Chicago, Memphis/Tunica and Branson.
• The Auxiliary recruits volunteers for special events: golf benefit, Open House, hot dog cookout, rush jobs at Lafayette and the annual holiday party in December.
• The Auxiliary pays for the annual holiday party attended by over 225 people--i.e., sheltered employees, staff, invited guests.
• The Auxiliary purchases items for the lunchroom for the benefit of all sheltered employees, saving Lafayette from assuming this expense.
• The Auxiliary pays for supplies and mailing costs of the monthly newsletter. Currently over 380 issues are printed and mailed each month.
• The Auxiliary raised additional funds by selling cookbooks with recipes from Lafayette families/friends, and entertainment® books.
